Gibson Zakk Wylde Les Paul Electric Guitar, Black/White Bullseye

  • Hardshell case
  • The body has a 1-piece mahogany back with carved maple best
  • Ebony fretboard with pearl block inlay
  • Multi-ply binding on leading

A quick listen to any of Zakk Wylde’s seminal playing, from Ozzy Osbourne’s “No Far more Tears” to Black Label Society’s “Bleed For Me”, tells you quickly that this guitarist goes at it rough and prepared, and takes no prisoners. The Zakk Wylde Les Paul BFG embodies the mammoth tone and more than-the-best rock attitude of its name sake, and delivers all the gear required to undertake your own scorched-earth attack on your local music scene: from its rough-hewn bookmatched maple best, to its rounded ’50s-spec neck with ebony fingerboard, to its sizzling EMG 81 and 85 humbucking pickups — all authorized by the Wylde man himself — the Zakk Wylde Les Paul BFG is primed to provide the message, in a big way. And with two Zakk-licensed looks to decide on from, a bullseye graphic or buzzsaw graphic over a satin-all-natural nitro finish, there will be no mistaking that you have come for company.

Only reason for the 4-star rating is the price. Otherwise, this is a loud graphic on a really nice Les Paul. When you can get LP Standards for over a Grand less, you really need to make a statement (and a paycheck)to want to pay the extra dime for this premium edition. Though I haven’t tried the Epiphone version yet, they are selling for about 1/7 the price. You can always pay a few bucks to upgrade the copy too!
