I bought these to replace the set on my old SG since they were very old and worn out, causing slippage. These new ones are very sturdy and stay in tune for ages. Only very slight tuning adjustments from time to time, if that. Not only do they do their job perfectly, they look identical to the Gibson brand tuners that were stock. These are pleasing to ears AND eyes. 5/5.

I installed these on my 2000-ish Epiphone Les Paul. They provide a VERY noticeable upgrade and provide a true vintage look. I can tune with much finer precision, and they hold that tuning with even the nastiest of bending. The ability to accurately tune and keep that tuning allows to play and sound better. I should note that I had to drill new holes or, more precisely, enlarge the holes on my guitar. I used a 3/8 drill bit and just went very slowly and carefully. I’m sure the idea of drilling your guitar might sound scary, but it was actually quite easy. Now they are in there nice and snug since I made the holes a bit tight.

I have an epiphone Les Paul standard that I wanted the vintage tuners look. I bought the cheap shipped from China tuners and those were veto’d once I opened the package. Placed an order for the Grovers and have been satisfied, smooth action and is staying in tune well.

A bonus feature of these are they fit in 10mm guitar headstock holes so it doesn’t require additional adapter bushings for a modern guitar. The installation was pretty simple, the part that took some care was to make sure each machine head was straight before drilling the positioning screws.
